Dressing for Spring…

Spring is in full bloom in San Antonio and I am loving the warmer temperatures! Leaves are reemerging  and flowers are slowly starting to blossom.

With this new weather comes so many fun possibilities — exercising outdoors, dining al fresco, sitting on my back patio with a glass of wine…

Warmer weather also means a change in my wardrobe. Skirts, dresses, and sandals can all come out of hiding, which does wonders for my “fashion confidence.”

Dressing for Winter is difficult for me. I don’t feel I layer pieces well; I don’t love wearing jeans; and I don’t particularly enjoy being cold!

But with Spring I feel like I can flourish — throw on a dress and sandals — and I can regain some of the mojo I lost with cold weather dressing.

While I am still on my 90 day shopping ban, I have new eyes for the items in my closet.

Here are three things I am excited to wear this Spring…

Wide Leg White Pants

I have a fabulous pair of white wide leg pants and I hardly ever wear them. I was thinking about why they get cast to the back of my closet season after season and I finally realized why — they have to to be ironed! None of my other pants need to be ironed, so when I am in a hurry, I obviously choose the easy to wear options. Solution: Next time I iron a dress shirt for work, I am going to iron those pants as well.

Here are some of my favorite white pants for Spring…

Lilly Pulitzer Dresses

I have a handful of amazing Lilly Pulitzer dresses and they don’t see the light of day unless I am on vacation. This is totally going to change this Spring! I have this new zest for bright colors and bold prints and I can’t wait to take my Lilly dresses out for a spin!

Here are some of my favorite Lilly dresses…

Keds

I bought a pair of Keds last year and they are still in the box. I’m looking forward to pairing them with dresses, skirts, and shorts this Spring!

Here are some adorable Keds…

What are you looking forward to wearing this Spring?

Best Of… J. Crew

Hey y’all!

I’ve decided to make “Best Of…” a monthly feature here on the blog and this month I’m featuring items from one of my favorite stores… J. Crew.

I love shopping at J. Crew for work wear staples, but I also love their casual, everyday looks.

Here are a few of the items I’m lovin’…

I’ll take one of each please…

Do you like shopping at J. Crew?

Gingham Love…

It seems that I do a post on gingham every year — and yet — it is still just as popular today as it was when I started this little blog!

I love that gingham is “season-less.” I can wear it in the winter with a puffy vest and I can wear it in the summer with white jeans!

The gingham trends for Spring are absolutely amazing! Here are a few of my favorites…

For Whom the Bell Tolls…

Bell sleeves are a major trend right now! Since I’m still on my self imposed shopping lock down, I haven’t purchased a bell sleeved top, but I think they are really cute!

How do you feel about them?

I rounded up my favorites! Enjoy!

For Your Viewing Pleasure | Week 11

Happy Weekend, y’all! Woo hoo!

Last night Hubby and I had dinner at our friends’ house — and after an amazing meal, we played the game Sequence! We had never played, but it was so much fun! I think I’m going to order it for our own game closet!

Cute Movies I Recently Watched…

I don’t watch a ton of movies, because I usually don’t have a two hour block of time to devote to a flick. However, I’ve started watching chunks of movies — usually about a half hour at a time — when I take a bath.

Here are three wonderful movies (all on Netflix) that I watched recently…

Hillary Duff’s character, a writer for Cosmo Magazine, decides to get a job in the business world in order to find her “Magic Man.” She ends up meeting someone who checks none of the boxes on her list, and it might just be a match made in corporate heaven!

This is a modern day spin on the ever so classic Cinderella Story. Katie Kassel is exiled from her family’s fashion house after her evil step-mother and step-sisters betray her. In order to save the company, Katie decides to go back to work as a very talented (male) fashion designer. Lucky for her, Katie meets her prince charming — who just so happens to design incredible shoes!

This movie is definitely heavier than the other two. I would put this movie on the same emotional level as The Notebook — so be ready to shed some tears. A young woman escapes her violent past and finds a safe haven in a small town. She falls for a recent widow and everything seems just about perfect until her past shows up to haunt her.

I rounded up some of my favorites — Enjoy!

Best of … Boden

I recently discovered the brand Boden, a fabulous British brand, that has great quality clothes and accessories. Prior to placing myself on my self imposed 90 day shopping ban, I purchased an adorable denim dress from Boden that has already received a ton of wear!

I rounded up some of my favorites from Boden and thought I’d share them with y’all…

What do y’all think? Any favorites? Chime in with a comment below!

I’m loving that floral jersey dress!
