For Your Viewing Pleasure — Week 1

And just like that… we’re done with the first week of 2018!

I’ve been under the weather the last few days and these first few days back to work were so tough.

Have y’all made resolutions or goals for the New Year? I shared mine here.

Keeping in the spirit of resolutions and goals, here are some of my favorite posts on the topic —

— On the Internet —

Kelly from Kelly in the City shares her Seven Goals for 2018. I love her goal of living simply.

Carly from Carly the Prepster contemplates her Goals for 2018. I especially like the goal of not saying “I think…”

Grace from The Stripe gives us her Goals for 2018. I concur with her goal of more yoga!

Jacey from Damsel in Dior tells us Why I’m not Making Resolutions for 2018. Read all the way to the end for her great personal mantra!

Julia from Lemon Stripes offers her 2018 Goals. As an Estate Planning lawyer I am happy to see “set up a last will and testament” as one of her goals. This is so important y’all!

— On Sale —

There are so many good sales right now!

Ann Taylor — up to 70% off at their semi-annual sale. This leopard sweater is adorable and is under $30.

Ann Taylor Loft — 70% off select sale styles. This cowl neck sweater dress is under $25.

J. Crew — up to 75% off sale items with code: SALEONSALE. This zebra bathing suit is calling my name! And at under $30 it is even cuter!

J. Crew Factory — 60% off clearance with code: CHILLY. I ordered this top ($14) to liven up my work wardrobe and this lace top ($16.00) for date night.

Happy 2018…

Happy New Year!

Sorry for the radio silence around here lately. December was far busier than I anticipated with work and this little blog definitely took a back seat.

2017 wasn’t my favorite year and I was more than happy to see it go. I have high hopes for 2018 and am looking forward to the clean slate that the new year brings.

One of my favorite things to do come the beginning of January is to write out my goals for the upcoming 365 days. Some of them I  meet, some of them I don’t — but I love the exercise of contemplating ways to better myself as a person. Here’s my plan for 2018.

Health & Wellness

Drink more water — I am terrible at drinking the recommended 8 glasses of water per day. I ordered myself a new water bottle hoping that might help.

Go to yoga once a week — I always feel so good after going to a yoga class, I really want to make it part of my weekly workout schedule.

Run a 1/2 marathon — I’ve completed three half marathons and I always feel like I am in the best shape of my life after months of hard training. I can’t wait to run another one in 2018!

Recycle — I just finished the book “Zero Waste Home” and I am inspired to recycle more and use less disposable products. We recycle large items (like cardboard boxes), but I want to be better about maximizing our recycling power.

Journal Everyday — I feel like this is on my list every year, but I do want to jot down memories so I can look back on them in years to come.

Read the Bible Everyday — I downloaded a Bible on my iPad that breaks down the Bible into a few chapters per day. It is really manageable and I am currently making my way through Genesis.

Encourage Other Women — I want to figure out a way to encourage the women in my life. I haven’t figured out what I am going to do yet, but I am looking forward to doing something!

Blog Three Times Per Week — I really want to turn my little corner of the web into something special, so I am going to put more emphasis into posting more quality content.
